The 2024 Electronic Materials Conference (EMC 2024) is the premier annual forum on the preparation, characterization and use of electronic materials. This year’s event will feature a plenary session, topical sessions, a poster session and more.

EMC is coordinated with the Device Research Conference (DRC), which will be held during the same week, from June 24-26, 2024. This recognizes the strong interaction between device and electronic materials research and provides fruitful exchange of information between attendees of both Conferences.

  • This talk will consider the future of metal halide perovskite (MHP)  photovoltaic (PV) technologies as photovoltaic deployment reaches the terawatt scale.  The requirements for significantly increasing PV deployment beyond current rates and what the implications are for technologies attempting to meet this challenge will be addressed.  In particular how issues of CO2 impacts and sustainability inform near and longer-term research development and deployment goals for MHP enabled PV will be discussed. To facilitate this, an overview of current state of the art results for MHP based single junction, and multi-junctions in all-perovskite or hybrid configurations with other PV technologies will be presented.  This will also include examination of performance of MHP-PVs along both efficiency and reliability axes for not only cells but also modules placed in context of the success of technologies that are currently widely deployed.

EMC 2024 is expected to bring approximately 600 electronic materials practitioners together to interact and network with colleagues, learn of the latest electronic technology innovations, and meet the vendors of electronic material systems that supply products and solutions to technical needs. The exhibition will be closely integrated with the technical program through plenary sessions, industrial panels, industrial innovation sessions, and social activities for delegates and exhibitors alike.

The Exhibitor & Sponsor Prospectus provides everything that is needed to reserve an exhibit booth or become a sponsor of EMC 2024.

Electronic Materials Conference Code of Conduct

A core value of the Electronic Materials Conference (EMC) is being inclusive and egalitarian. EMC event participants are expected to foster an inclusive, cooperative environment where all are welcomed, open dialogue is encouraged, and all perspectives are appreciated. Every event participant is expected to act in a professional, responsible and courteous manner while engaged in EMC events and activities. Unprofessional behavior, including disparaging comments and unwelcome conduct related to sex, race, color, gender, age, disability, orientation, national origin, or religion, will not be tolerated. If any event participant engages in unprofessional behavior, EMC leadership may take any action it deems appropriate, ranging from a warning to the offender to expulsion from current and future EMC activities.

Promoting technical excellence is another core value of EMC. EMC authors and co-authors are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards with regard to abstract submissions, presentations, and publications. It is the responsibility of all authors to ensure the integrity of reported results, compliance with sponsoring organization policies, and the acknowledgment of contributors, funding organizations, and institutions where the research was conducted.

It is the intent of EMC leadership to foster the respectful behavior embodied in this Code of Conduct. EMC leadership staff will be happy to help event participants contact venue authorities and otherwise assist with Code of Conduct concerns.
